In order to work with some PABX in an office environment, it is customary for some special digits to be dialled ahead of the destination telephone number. For example, “0”, “00 852 2790 7827” with the first “0” being the command digit that tells the PABX to dial out-bound calls. Most importantly, a pause of about 2 – 4 seconds needs to be inserted after the leading “0” before the rest of the number is being dialled. For the convenience of redialling such numbers or storing them to memory, it is wise to include such a PAUSE into the number manually such that the system automatically inserts such a PAUSE time when it re-dials later on. The PAUSE key is the right soft-key at the lower-right corner of the screen. The soft-key turns up as soon as any digit is being pressed on the phone.
